Antihistamines
Traditional
antihistamines are out. The new
non-sedating ones are in. Several studies
demonstrate that the likes of Chlortrimeton and Benadryl result in a
highway accident profile comparable to
alcohol. The down side of the non-sedating
products is their cost. Still it may be a
small price to pay for safety sake.
New age non-sedating
antihistamines include Allegra, Claritin,
Astelin, Clarinex, and likely Zyrtec.
These are no more effective than the
traditional ones, but are virtually
without side-effects.
